ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM


The Academy of Communication in Healthcare (ACH) teaches communication competencies that ensure healthcare professionals deliver high-quality, relational care. These competencies, offered as three discreet skill sets, not only contribute to improving the patient experience, but can improve the quality of work life, and by extension, organization culture, for those who adopt them by increasing efficiency, enhancing clarity, and strengthening relationships.

RCC Fundamental Skills For LeadersTailored to support the unique goals of executive or administrative healthcare professionals, this program applies RCC Fundamental Skills in the context of leadership and collegial encounters (rather than clinical patient encounters).

-  Each session includes skills-based exercises, conducted in a supportive small group learning environment. This real-time exchange offers participants the chance to integrate workshop content with individual learning goals. 
-  Program participants also receive a 1-hour personalized coaching session with an ACH Faculty leader as follow-up support.
-  All programs occur from 11:00A - 5:30P ET.


REGISTRATION FEE: $950 ($95 discount for ACH members)


SCHOLARSHIPS: ACH provides limited scholarships. Preference given to those from professional groups and racial and ethnic groups that are under-represented in the health professions and in the ACH community. COMMON QUESTIONS
  1. Who should attend? The program is applicable to anyone serving the healthcare community. We tailor the learning experience toward the specific professional context of the learner / group. We work with diverse professional audiences and have decades of experience specific to the clinician experience (physicians/APPs).
     
  2. What are the program fees? Fees vary based on the goals and enrollment size of each group. The standard open-enrollment fee is $950 per participant (an initiation fee for local, customized programs). Group discounts and scholarship funding for underrepresented individuals/organizations may be available. We welcome you to contact us for a customized estimate that reflects your budget and needs.
     
  3. What is the impact? Individual participants report increased awareness of the importance of effective communication, as well as enhance confidence in their ability and desire to apply relationship-centered skills. Organizations report improved metrics around patient experience, clinician burnout, and patient health outcomes.
     
  4. How long is the fundamental program? The standard program is 6.5 hours, and may occur as either a full day offering or a three-part series. See above for upcoming open-enrollment dates/times.
     
  5. What types of credit are available for participants? In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Amedco LLC and Academy of Communication in Healthcare. Amedco LLC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Amedco LLC designates this activity for a maximum of 6.00 ANCC contact hours and for a maximum of 6.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
     
  6. Who teaches the program? Expert certified ACH facilitators, with clinical or academic health professional training, guide each session. We strive to provide a peer-based mentoring approach when feasible.
