Status Update Regarding Upcoming ACH Events

Friday, March 20, 2020

The Academy of Communication in Healthcare (ACH) is closely monitoring the continuing developments pertaining to COVID-19. We want to assure colleagues planning to attend or considering attending ACH’s ENRICH Healthcare Communication Course and the Healthcare Communication Research Forum, scheduled for late June in Austin, Texas, that health, safety and security are our top priorities.  Please know that the well-being of our members, attendees, speakers, volunteers and staff are our utmost priority.

ACH staff and leadership will make informed decisions about our meetings based on sound information and guidance provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We will also coordinate with our host venue, the State of Texas, and the City of Austin.  At this time, we are exploring all options. We will make every possible effort to ensure the ENRICH Course and the Research Forum are preserved and advise you as soon as possible regarding any modifications to the existing plan.

In the meantime, to help accommodate our attendees during these uncertain times, ACH has adjusted its cancellation policy for the 2020 ACH ENRICH Course and the Research Forum to allow for registrants whose travel plans are impacted by COVID-19, including by travel bans during the conference dates, to receive a full registration refund. In addition, please note that lodging reservations made at the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center through the ENRICH/Forum room block may be cancelled without penalty up to 72 hours in advance of check-in date.

Thank you for your patience as we evaluate this situation and for the important work that you are doing during this crisis.
